Stockholm vs Cape Town is a creative duo made up of Swedish photographer Johan Lygrell and producer Michael Rama. We help Swedish clients with productions in Cape Town, and can either take on a small supporting role or manage the entire production—depending on what you need.​ We usually work in one of two ways:

1. Handling stills on bigger commercial shoots
2. Or taking full responsibility for smaller productions, where we create both photo and film, plus content.

We’ve been working in Cape Town since 2015 and know the city like the back of our hand. With local knowledge, the right permits, and a solid understanding of how Swedish clients like to work, we’re a great resource for agencies, brands, or production companies looking to shoot in South Africa.

Stockholm vs Cape Town began as a fun idea back in 2015, born from Johan’s indecision about whether to live in Stockholm or Cape Town. In the end, he chose both — and today, he splits his time evenly, spending about six months a year in each city.

In 2020, the business merged with local model and producer Michael Rama, forming a creative partnership focused on both productions and fine art prints.
